The NSW Government has made exempt development for outdoor dining permanent on private land for cafes, clubs, and restaurants. Venues can continue to operate outdoor dining in locations including private laneways, bowling greens and car parks without planning approval, providing they meet safety rules.

The SunRice group, with headquarters in Leeton, has won the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages Award at the 61st annual Australian Export Awards at Parliament House. Drone helps firefighters battle silo blaze
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters battled a blaze in a grain silo at Leeton and discovered a new use for their Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), or drones, that is expected to significantly reduce the length of emergency operations.
