The Nhill & District Sporting Club are gearing up to host a WorkSafe Country Club Game against Ararat on Saturday June 21st. This is a fantastic opportunity for the club, and demonstrates that our sporting clubs bring more than just sport to our local communities.
Council advocating for drought support in Hindmarsh
Hindmarsh Shire Council is advocating for our community to be added to the list of Council's Drought Declared. Hindmarsh Shire has recorded significant rainfall deficiency over the past 12 months and soil moisture levels are rapidly declining. There are currently 24 Local Government areas eligible for dry seasons and drought support, and Hindmarsh Shire Council is not one of those included on this list.

Albrecht celebrates 200 senior games with Nhill
On Saturday, 24th of May, Nhill's Liam Albrecht played his 200th club and senior game to become one of Nhill's stalwarts, with the Tigers having a good win over Warracknabeal. It is just over 14 years to the day since Liam Albrecht first debuted for the Tigers on the 7th of May, 2011.

Leap forward for Nhill Renewable Energy Facility
Construction of a new solar farm and battery at Nhill is now complete and has successfully connected to the electricity grid – supplying cheap renewable energy to power operations at Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water (GWMWater).

Nhill Fire Brigade celebrates arrival of two new emergency vehicles
Nhill Fire Brigade raised an incredible amount of funds for two vital appliances: a new light tanker and the replacement forward command vehicle were officially handed over to Nhill Fire Brigade in Nhill by D17 ACFO Chris Eagle on Sunday 18th May 2025.
CFA brigades stand down over controversial emergency services levy
Hundreds of CFA volunteers have made the difficult decision to stand down in protest against the Victorian Government's new Emergency Services Levy, passed during a late-night parliamentary session last Thursday.
