No plan for wind turbine fire threat

Despite a wind turbine fire in June having the potential to have caused widespread devastation, the Victorian Government has no plan to address and prevent future catastrophes … the Minister for Emergency Services was unable to report to Parliament or the thousands of CFA volunteers which turbines are fitted with fire suppression equipment, and what resources will be available to CFA volunteers to combat potential fires across any of the thousands of turbines distributed across some of the most fire prone areas in Victoria.

Georgie goes to the wall

Donald’s IGA wall is receiving some special attention this week, with Melbourne artist Heesco dedicating his time and talents to a new mural, featuring Donald’s historical Chinese market gardener, Georgie Ah Ling. Heesco commenced work on Tuesday, November 26, and will be staying in Donald until the completion of the mural, which is hoped to be next week.

ACCPA hails passing of the Aged Care Bill

The Aged and Community Care providers Association (ACCPA) has welcomed the passing of the Aged Care Bill in the Senate, paving the way for a new Act, as a watershed moment for older Australians. A new, rights-based Aged Care Act was the number one recommendation of the Royal Commission into aged care ... Bowls leaders consolidate

Completing the first full round of North Central Playing Area’s 2024-’25 pennant fixture, Division 1 leaders, Wedderburn and Donald Golf, confirmed their rankings with comfortable wins over St. Arnaud Country Club and Boort respectively … St. Arnaud Country Club remains outside of the top four, while cross town rival, St. Arnaud, which demolished Donald by 68 shots, strengthened its grip on third place.
