The victory at the Wedderburn Cup meeting ... had added significance, as it was the first training success for Castle, of Swan Marsh, 20 minutes from Colac.

Alyssa Walker. Even the threat of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the crowd drawn to Donald’s Memorial Park on Australia Day, and the wind only served as a challenge to people to cheer louder in their celebrations.

Peter Hibberd. Due to the provisions of the track safety inspection policy, the last two races at the Elders Wycheproof Cup meeting were abandoned. Riders were concerned about a section of track. After remedial work was completed, stewards and a deputation of riders inspected the section concerned.
