Prima Stella was the main star of Saturday’s Casino race meeting, taking out the prestigious $30,000 Hotel Cecil Casino Gold Cup.
The eight-year-old gelding, trained by Rocky Simonetta from Kempsey, was ridden by Matthew McGuren.
Second was Nothingforthepress who just pipped Bombasay in third.
Prima Stella’s win followed second placings in the Sawtell Cup and the Maclean Cup in July.
The gold cup was on display at the Hotel Cecil before race day.
