Wikner Ford Special

Allora’s Wikner Ford Special is on the highway heading south to Maroubra – not to surf but to be a headline act at huge celebrations ... The Vintage Car Club of Australia is celebrating the Centenary of the opening event at the infamous Maroubra Olympic Speedway in 1925. Of that initial event only one racing car remains as it raced that day, Doug’s Wikner Ford Special.

On their recent visit to Allora, Queensland State Politicians - Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie and Member for Southern Downs James Lister MP were impressed with Allora’s Sports Museum. As a treat they were allowed to take a seat in Doug Partington’s Wikner Ford Special.

It’s Doug Partington’s pride and joy but he’s willing to share. The Allora Sports Museum offered Doug the opportunity to display his Wikner Ford Special, the oldest Australian racing car, at the Museum.
