Forecasters predict November rains

Weather forecasters are predicting widespread rainfall for November, across NSW and Queensland. Falls of between 20 and 60 mm are being touted for the Back Country. The Bureau of Meteorology says rainfall is likely to be above average across much of eastern Australia and parts of the interior until January.

With so many airstrips available to the RFDS, it is crucial they maintain up-to-date information for each location.

Carrathool farm sells at $601 an acre

The Willows sells at auction. Nutrien’s selling agent James Sides described the recent property sale at Carrathool as "exceptional". The 1,192 hectare grazing holding ‘The Willows’ went under the hammer at Carrathool Hotel recently and attracted seven registered bidders. "The competition  was upbeat and competitive with the final result being an outstanding sale price of $1.77 million."

Oh Deer – wildlife on the loose in South Hay

Residents of South Hay have been surprised by the sudden appearance of a deer in the street. The animal was spotted in Lang Street, hopping from garden to garden, though the grounds of Comfort Inn Bishop's Lodge Motel, before heading along the busy Sturt Highway.
