Economic reboot

A total of 25 civil and $7.2 million in residential and commercial projects in the Narrandera Shire have given employment and service providers a massive boost. The civil projects undertaken with government and Council funds include: the Narrandera sportsground, the Narrandera sports stadium, Narrandera Destination and Discovery Hub and the realignment of Kamarah Road.

Back on track

The 2021 racing season kicks off in Narrandera on Saturday with the $72,000 L W Peacock Memorial Meeting ... It will be the first time the public have been allowed back on course for 22 months ... Saturday’s meeting will see the first use of the barriers donated to the club by the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. Narrandera’s old barriers were in turn donated to the Jerilderie Race Club.

Rams in the race

Barellan Rams are on a roll, notching up their second win for the season in the ProTen Community Cup rugby league at Goolgowi on June 5. At half-time, Barellan were 10 to Ivanhoe 6 and the full-time score was 14-10.

Health Services Union Riverina organiser Mick Grayson said regional paramedics were at a significant disadvantage from lower pay and costly work practices.

Drama halts tight game

Nicholas Rupolo. Barellan Two Blues are now in seventh place after a slim nine-point victory over Coleambally Blues in a drama filled game during round eight of the Farrer League. The Two Blues defeated Coleambally 32-23 away from home for just their second win of the season despite the game being called off in the third quarter.

Narrandera Volunteer Rescue squad gets a new rescue truck

Narrandera's Volunteer Rescue Association squad was handed the keys to their new $380,000 rescue truck on Thursday by NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott.
