The winners were announced at the Coraki Art Prize Gala Night at the Coraki Youth Hall ... Organiser Tanya Alderman said there were more than 100 youth entries. Best in Show went to Hollie McKenzie from Whian Whian for her artwork I Feel Alive but Can’t Complain. She won $2000 sponsored by Casino RSM Club.

Aerial baiting is one of the tactics used to reduce wild dog populations. This time though, instead of using fresh meat to bait the dogs, a bait called DOGGONE will be trialled. The Eyes on the Rim project will monitor wild dogs and their impact on endangered species.

End of free housing at temporary pod villages in Coraki and Evans Head
For two years, people have been living free of charge in temporary housing villages known as pods. The 11 housing pod villages including ones at Coraki and Evans Head were set up after the 2022 flood disaster in response to the housing crisis.

Farmer installs flashing lights to warn traffic of cows crossing highway
Terry Toohey’s family have been dairy farmers at Woodview, west of Casino since 1901. Back then a busy Bruxner Highway didn’t cut through the green paddocks and cows didn’t have to risk being hit by a car or truck ... The chance of that happening again has been dramatically reduced with the installation of signs with flashing lights when the cows cross the road twice a day.
Mustow is mayor for historic third term
Mayor Mustow is back – but he never really went anywhere. At 10pm, today, Saturday, September 14, Robert Mustow has 2896 votes which equates to almost 39 per cent of the vote. This gives Mr Mustow his third term as [Richmond Valley] mayor.
