Edenhope Equine Facility transformation
The Edenhope equestrian community is going from strength to strength ... The Edenhope Equine Facility features modern amenities ... The fully off grid system will mean that operating costs for these community groups are greatly reduced ... West Wimmera Shire Council Mayor Tim Meyer said Council was proud to have played a crucial role in bringing the Edenhope Equine Facility to life.
State Ag Show Convention success at Kaniva
This weekend Kaniva welcomed delegates from 47 shows across the state. This year’s convention was deemed a success by all. Participants travelled from right across Victoria; from Seymour to Mildura, Dandenong and Cohuna. The Kaniva A&P Society was announced as the host of the annual State Victorian Agricultural Shows Convention at Geelong last year.
Nhill’s golden girl off to Paris
Nhills Lucy Stephan, daughter of Mandy and Gus Stephan, will appear at the upcoming Olympians to be held in Paris for her 3rd Olympic appearance to compete in the Women’s Eight team. In 2021, Nhill’s Lucy Stephan won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and became the first Nhill Olympian and gold medal and put Nhill on the map.

Council adopts 2024-25 Budget
West Wimmera Shire Council has adopted its 2024-25 Budget and Annual Plan. Council endorsed both documents at a meeting on Wednesday. A key feature of the 2024- 25 budget is a strong focus on maintaining and enhancing key infrastructure, particularly roads, and promoting education, healthcare, tourism, and economic development.
Horsham Sports & Community Club sponsors district
Last Sunday at the Horsham Sunnyside Bowling Club the Horsham Sports and Community Club distributed funds to the successful sporting clubs and community organizations from their annual sponsorship program .This year there were 85 clubs and organizations from around the Wimmera area to share in the funds distribution of $135,000.00 and that included eight local Nhill and Kaniva district clubs and/or committees.
Nhill College celebrate World Music Day
Nhill College celebrated ‘World Music Day’ on Friday with over 60 students performing. The Year 7 Bucket Drumming Group welcomed our concert goers with a series of traditional and not so traditional patterns they have been working on in class. This was followed by the Junior Voices singing, ‘I Am The Earth’, written by Glyn Lehmann in 2008.
