SHOWING RESULTS FOR:

Bailey provides answers on corridor

Minister for Transport and Main Roads Mark Bailey has responded to questions asked by local Member for Condamine Pat Weir in Parliament regarding the Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor.

TMR extends consultation for north-south bypass

The Department of Main Roads and Transport has extended the initial community consultation period for feedback on the proposed Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor. The initial round of community consultation has been extended to the 13th of October.

Much ado about nothing, as it happens

The mooted Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor, first announced in July, has been scrapped by the Queensland Government following significant community backlash ... Under the proposed corridor, hundreds of properties would have been directly affected, including dozens at Westbrook, Wyreema and Vale View.

‘Why can’t it go west?’

Gowrie residents are concerned about the proposed North-South road corridor that will "split Gowrie in two" to provide easy transport from Highfields and Westbrook to Charlton. The atmosphere at last Thursday’s consultation meeting was tense.

Questions still remain

A meeting held at Westbrook on Monday night provided some clarity on the Department of Transport and Main Road’s (TMR) proposed Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor, however some details still remain a mystery. The meeting was organised by concerned community members in conjunction with Member for Condamine Pat Weir.

Consultation extended

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has extended the consultation period for the proposed Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor, which has already caused quite a lot of controversy. Public consultation has now been extended by more than a month to 8 September 2023.

First look at planned bypass route

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has released the planned location of the proposed Toowoomba North South Transport Corridor, which will direct traffic away from the New England Highway through Toowoomba.

Plans for new western bypass

Just as the original Toowoomba Bypass radically changed the nature of transport for the east-west axis of Toowoomba, a north-south bypass, on the western side of town, would make a huge impact on the local region. A Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) spokesperson confirmed TMR is undertaking a planning project to protect a future state transport corridor west of Toowoomba.
